I am currently a student at the University of St Andrews, in the second year of a Physics degree. My main interests are sports and I like trying new things - the weirder the better (up to a point!). This Summer I am cycling from St Andrews to Istanbul as part of the Pedal Istanbul team. We hope to raise money and awareness for Sustrans - a charity promoting sustainable transport.
Sustrans improves our daily lives and local environment by encouraging and enabling the use of cheaper, cleaner, safer and healthier modes of transport. They work at a local level with schools, businesses and communities to deliver practical solutions to local transport issues through their Active Travel and Links to Schools programmes to name a few. At a national level, Sustrans actively campaigns for sustainable transport development and has set up the National Cycle Network. More information about Sustrans can be found on their website.
