OMG...I'm doing the Great North Run on 18th September ! Many early morning training runs in the rain, I may add.

I am trying to take the opportunity to play on your generosity and support me in trying to raise funds for the Pituitary Foundation.

A good friend of mine Martin Crosby (who many of you know) had an operation two summers ago to remove a tumour on his pituitary gland and he ended up having the tumour and the gland removed.

Since Martin's operation, a work colleague, Vicky-Jayne Lee (who many of you may also know !) has also had a tumour partially removed from her pituitary gland.

Knowing the difficulties Martin, Vicky-Jayne and their respective families have faced, I think this is a very worthy cause. It's surprising how many people do actually know someone affected by a pituitary condition.
