Story
On Saturday 22nd June I completed the 69 mile Run The Wall ultra marathon from Carlisle to Newcastle in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. It was a fantastic day and something I will remember for the rest of my life.
Standing on the start line at 7am it suddenly dawned on me what lay ahead. Could I run non-stop for nearly 70 miles? The thought of not finishing did enter my mind but then the thought of the generosity of family and friends kicked in and I knew I HAD to finish and raise as much money as possible.
The scenery was stunning, the weather perfect and I met so many brilliant people along the way. I finally finished in 15 hours and 12 minutes, crossing the Milennium Bridge to great support.
As I write this I'm battered and bruised and stairs are still challenge! I'd like to thank everyone who has sponsored me and shown great generosity as it was you who kept me going when it got tough. If you are visiting my page for the first time and are sponsoring me thank you so very much.
Peter.
