Where there's a Will there's a Way- THE DUCHENNE RESEARCH RELAY
Campaign by Muscular Dystrophy UK (RCN 205395 (England and Wales) - SC039445 (Scotland))
Over three days, between 12 - 14 August 2021, Wills Team will attempt to ride over 380 miles to fund research and help find a treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Story

In June 2014 our friends son Will was diagnosed with a Muscular Dystrophy condition called Duchenne. At that time he was aged 4. Now 11, Will is a happy and energetic young boy that constantly pushes against the effects the condition is having on his body. In our eyes, he is a remarkable young boy.

Muscular Dystrophy (particularly Duchenne condition) is not new to the Ellis family as our cousin Tony had the same condition.

We as a family remain committed towards raising money for the MDUK charity to help boost awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and increase and accelerate research resources into the Duchenne condition.

To help raise funds, we are taking on a cycle challenge that will involve riding nearly 400 miles and climbing 6000 metres over 3 days.

The Challenge
Day 1: Thursday 12th August
Great Ormond Street to Oxford to Bromsgrove
Day 2: Friday 13th August Bromsgrove to Alder Hey to Preston
Day 3: Saturday 14th August Preston to Newcastle.
