Story
Ally was a much loved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great nan, colleague and friend.
Ally would say she was plain and ordinary, she liked the simple things in life like laughing and being mischievous but most of all she liked helping, listening and changing people’s lives for the better.
Ally had a way of touching someone with simple, beautiful kind words, a loving smile and would always say “Remember: be happy” to make someone’s day, she certainly achieved this!
Ally was well respected and loved by her colleagues and friends at the West Suffolk Hospital where she worked for 27 years and will be greatly missed.
We have chosen to support the My WiSH Charity’s Butterfly Appeal. This appeal is focused on enhancing the care of end of life and palliative patients at the West Suffolk Hospital. The charity recognises that both the patients and their loved ones need care at this difficult time and already provides comfort packs, which are given out to loved ones who are called unexpectedly to the bedside. The packs contain water, wipes, tissues, toothbrush and toothpaste, mints etc to make staying at the bedside a little easier. They have also purchased several day beds meaning loved ones can stay the night. Screens have been purchased with beautiful scenes which will wrap around the bed space providing extra privacy as well as something calming for them to look at.
But they want to do more and with our help they can. The charity will be launching a big project very soon which will make an incredible difference to our patients and their families. By donating in Ally’s memory, she will leave a lasting legacy for us all at the West Suffolk Hospital.
Thank you Pete x
