Story

Hello there,

In April we will be attempting to complete the London Marathon in aid of the PSP Assocation (http://www.pspeur.org/). Thats pretty standard I hear you say, but we plan to do absolutley no training and are going to have a shot of Cointreau at every mile marker (dont worry only half of that is true, it will be Baileys not Cointreau!)

PSP is a horrible illness that gradually stops the brain communicating with other parts of the body. Walking, talking, swallowing, writing all become impossible and feeding eventually has to take place through a plastic tube direct into the stomach.

Falling becomes common place and accidents from these falls or pneumonia from taking food into the wrong part of the body, remain the most common ways for this disease to cause the end of someone's life.

Sufferers can expect to live around 7 years from the onset of the disease, but it is rarely diagnosed correctly due to the complexities of diagnosis. It is a very little known about disease but is actually twice as prevalent as motor neurone disease.

A friends (well more rugby colleague) father suffers from this terrible illness and we have heard first hand how hard on a person and their family.

Please give generously.

Ps - There will be a party afterwards so book Monday off work!
