Story
This summer, rather than relaxing during the rugby off-season, I am taking on a massive challenge cycling 350 miles in France (from Etretat to Dunkirk) over 5 days with Help For Heroes.
As an ex-serviceman, I care deeply about fellow servicemen and women who have been injured or wounded whilst serving their country. These life changing injuries - and the mental trauma that often accompanies them - can require a huge amount of support to help veterans adapt to life outside the armed forces. Help For Heroes is the leading Armed Forces and veterans charity in the UK and, with your support, we can help our veterans and their families live well after service.
I’ve never attempted anything like this before and I’m training hard to prepare so I’m asking you to support both my training progress and fundraising journey by donating via the Give Now button. I am also organising a fundraising quiz night at Shipston Rugby Club – more details available very soon - and I hope you will join me for an evening of fun whilst raising money for a good cause.
It is important to say I am covering the costs of the trip myself, and therefore every pound of your donation goes directly towards supporting a veteran or their family.
Thanks for taking the time to support me – please find me on Facebook and Strava to track my progress and spur me on!
