Story
Those of you who know me, know that I love a challenge so when my wife suggested I enter the London Marathon, I thought why not? I thought I was pretty fit due to the amount of cycling I do, but I have now realised that cycle fit is not the same as run fit (having not run since my school days & that's a long time). I find it easier to cycle 50 miles rather than run 5 but it is getting easier! If I am going to do this then I want to make the effort worthwhile which is why I chose to run for ARUK. My Dad, Jimmy started showing signs of Dementia around the time of my 40th birthday, and very sadly died six years later. Watching someone you love deteriorate to the point they don't know who you are is heartbreaking for everyone concerned. My hope is that we can find a cure for this terrible disease so that future generations don't have to suffer. Any donation you make, however small, will be truly appreciated.
