Two years ago I embarked on a bike ride across Rajasthan with my 16 year old son Ruairi and 60 or so other lunatics. It was an amazing event through rural India covering c470km in 5 days on mountain bikes, often off road. Collectively we raised over £200,000 for heart related charities.

The Big Heart Bike Ride is back and in just over 1 week I am going to attempt a similar trek from Vietnam, up the Mekong river into Cambodia, finishing in Siem Reap. Those that have seen me recently will know that I am a finely tuned, 12 stone athlete sheathed in a couple of stones of unsightly lard - much training needed if I am to even make half of the distance - hopefully the oppressive heat and rugged terrain will help !! This is a self funded trip and every penny raised will go to the charity.

I am supporting the Grand Appeal  which helps the Bristol Children's Hospital raising vital funds for all child related illness and parental support. I know there are many charity events underway which are asking for your support but if you can spare something, however small, it would be hugely appreciated.
