WE DID IT THE MAGIC IS ALIVE!!!! It has been a great day and a very big thank you for everyone's support and generosity. Nigel and I have raised nearly £2000 for GOSH and I will update the website later but as a taster please review my day.

Nigel appears to have done an extra 2 miles - so much for Global Positioning Systems but we have some photos to prove we started in the same place and finished at the same time.
It has been an emotional journey THANK YOU x x o
What started this ? In September, Jane and I should be celebrating Alice’s coming of age at her 18th birthday. This is not going to be the case and we will quietly celebrate our daughter’s birthday in reflection of how different things could have been and with the lighting of a candle.
Since Alice’s death in 1995 Jane and I have been keen supporters of GOSH, donating regularly and we’ve even been known to wear the t-shirt. Many of you may have helped us with our Big Bang for Babies and the raffling of tickets for the opportunity to blow-up a bridge over the A1 which raised over £5000.
It has been a while since we have done any fund raising and this escapade has been brought about by a “mid life crisis” to get out and on my bike and follow in the footsteps of Bradley et al – congratulations Froomee. Me and my mate Nigel have set ourselves the challenge of the London to Cambridge cycle ride and raise funds for our chosen charity GOSH which means such a lot to us both.
Training – what training - the wheels have well and truly fallen off the training. The cycle ride is near 60 miles. Since April I’ve managed 15 trips on the bike, the furthest being 18 miles to Kilmarnock and back. So it is not a done deal – but failure is not on the agenda.
I know there have been a number of events where people have been raising money for very worthwhile causes but if you would consider supporting me by donating even £1 or £2, it would be greatly appreciated.
Our dedication "To poppet" An angel in the book of life wrote down our baby's birth then added as he closed the book "too beautiful for earth".
If that doesn't get you! then donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
Thank you for your interest and support
