Event: Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023, on 14 May 2023
In memory of Keith Bedwell
The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will take place on Sunday 14 May 2023 and has been inspired by former Leeds Rhinos captain, Kevin Sinfield OBE, and his fundraising challenges in recent years in support of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow.

Story

In 2005 my dad, Keith Bedwell, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. A disease for which there is no cure. A debilitating disease which cruelly results in wasting of an individuals muscles. My dad died on 12th March 2006.

In 2019 Rob Burrow, the former professional Rugby League player, was diagnosed with MND, at just 37 years of age. He has a wife and three young children. But despite the immense hardship and heartache Rob must be going through alongside his family and friends, he remains an inspiration and continues to make a difference.

In 2020 Kevin Sinfield ran 7 marathons in 7 days; in 2021 he ran 101 miles in under 24 hours; in 2022 he ran 7 ultramarathons in 7 days. In 2023 it's the turn of others, like myself, to "Just go for a run for a mate" (one of Kevin's many quotes).

Which is why I am running the Rob Burrow's Leeds Marathon on Sunday 14th May 2023 in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Please donate what ever you can afford to this worthy cause. Thank you.
