I have been lucky enough to visit a number of Olympic events during the last couple of weeks and have had the most fantastic time.

Of course team GB's efforts have been fantastic and inspirational but for me the real stars of the games have been the games makers and the service men and women who have contributed massively to every vistor's experience at an Olympic event. All the volunteers giving their time and efforts for free. Always with smiles on their faces,enthusiasm, friendlyness and helpfulness even when the british weather has thrown everything it can at them and the servicemen and women who took what could have been an embarrasssing situation for the games and the country and made it a triumph. I'm sure I am not alone in having felt more safe and secure knowing our boys and girls were looking out for us.

So to say thanks to the games makers and services I am setting this page up in the hope that anyone else who feels the same as me can show their gratitude and make a donation to help for heros which is I'm sure you will agree is an apt and worthy charity.
