Story
Thanks for visiting !
I hope you will join in and help to save men. Men like my father, who died from prostate cancer.
To me he meant so much, yet in the statitics he appears as just one among more than 70,000 European men who die from Prostate Cancer each year.
Many of these lives, including my fathers, might be saved if the cancer is detected timely. Timely detection is possible through a relatively simple test.
The prostate cancer charity works to faciltate such testing. They also fund research and provide support to help overcome this terrible disease. This work is invaluable and we can help them by raising funds.
I am undertaking a challenge for this good cause in the hope that you will donate money through this page. It is simple, fast and totally secure.
The challenge is to run four marathons in the four months before my 40th birthday. The Marathons will be:
London Marathon in April,
Copenhagen Marathon in May,
South Downs Marathon in June, and
Lowlands Ultra in July.
For a sedentary couch potato like me, four marathons is quite a challenge. The South Downs Marathon is a trail Marathon with almost 6000 vertical feet and the Lowlands Ultra is a 30 mile trail run in similar terrain.
I am now training to be able to run this, but the real success is measured by how much money we raise together. Maybe, just maybe, our donations will facilitate a test which finds a cancer early enough to save a life.
So please donate. If you are a male over 50, please get tested yourself. Donating might save a life - a test may save your own !
So please dig deep and donate now.
