Story
From the moment that Lynn received her first telephone consultation, in February 2021 during covid, I knew she was in safe hands at the Clatterbridge Cancer Unit. Everything was clear, thorough, supportive and friendly, with staff spending as much time as Lynn needed to understand and feel comfortable with treatment options and their practical and emotional implications. And this never changed, whether it was over the phone, by letter or visits to both of the units on the Wirral and in Liverpool. It didn't matter who you came into contact with; consultants, nurses, radiographers, receptionists, porters or volunteers, everyone made Lynn feel at ease. Sadly, Lynn died on 26 June 2021 and it was an incredibly difficult time. However, the Cancer Unit kept in touch to make sure I had all the support I needed.
As many of you will know, Lynn and I loved being out on our tandem. It had been a feature of our lives for 26 years, with quite a few trips to France and all over the UK. Therefore I am cycling 80 miles on 21 August 2022 to raise funds for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity so that everyone who has need of this facility gets the treatment and support that they, and their families, need.
Thank you for donating in memory of Lynn.
Pete
