Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I consider myself very lucky to have been given the opportunity to run the London Marathon. Even more so as it gives me a chance to
raise money for such a fantastic and important cause.
Those of you that know me well will know that I'm a big fan of riding my bike. Ask me to complete a challenge on a bike and I'll happily give it a go. However, I'm not such a fan of running. Some people
love running, I am not one of those people. But if you get offered the chance to run the London Marathon you take it, especially if it also gives you the opportunity to raise awareness and money for an important cause.
The Cause
All of us would have had some experience with Cancer. Whether it's a family member, friend or colleague, it is likely we have known someone that has been impacted by it.
Losing someone to cancer is heartbreaking whatever age they are but when that person is younger, it seems so much more unfair.
A good friend of mine lost a close relative to cancer at a young age and for that reason, I have decided to raise money for The Teenage Cancer Trust.
The Teenage Cancer Trust are the only UK charity dedicated to supporting young people aged 13-24 through their journey with Cancer. The support they give the young person and their family and friends is so important and something I'm very proud to raise money for.
I'm really proud to be able to put on the Teenage Cancer Trust colours and to do my part to help raise funds.
I'll also be doing Bake Sales and bringing back a classic lockdown-style Zoom Quiz (with prize money for the winner) to help raise that little bit extra to smash the target. So stay tuned!
8 weeks to train for a Marathon with a newborn baby and 2 year old in the house, how hard can that be right!!
