Story
Recently I have started contracting for Silverfit to help it build back following COVID-19. The pandemic has had a big impact on its operations and its hundreds of members across London.
It is a small charity with a big reach and it promotes happier, healthier ageing through affordable physical activity, whilst at the same time combating social isolation, Silverfit aims to improve older people's quality of life and also to save the NHS and social care providers money.
Silverfit currently operates across London and offers Nordic Walking, Tai Chi, Walking Football and Yoga, all alongside the opportunity to socialise with, and meet new, friends.
These times are tough for small charities. In previous years, events such as the Big Half would have been a significant source of income, but this year it has been difficult to get people to sign up and so any small contribution would be massively appreciated.
Silverfit's services are needed more now than ever as we emerge from one of the weirdest periods in any of our lifetimes. Physical and mental health will have suffered over the last 18 months and Silverfit offers a genuinely positive way of addressing both, simultaneously.
