Story
Peter was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in 2013 and after a two year battle he sadly passed away on the 8th of May. He was a wonderful man full of laughter and joy.
Throughout the last two years, even in the darkest of times, the Doctors and Nurses at the Berkshire Cancer Centre offered amazing support and care. Before Dads passing we spoke to him about the potential of raising some money for a charity of his choise, and there was no doubt in his mind that he wanted to give something back to the wonderful team who had offered so much support and comfort to both him and his family.
Unfortunately Dad will not be able to be a part of any fund raising but I have no doubt he would have wanted us to still raise as much money as possible. Please give generously as support is appreciated and it will all be going to a wonderful and amazing cause.
One thing that made dad happy was to see his sons playing football and especially when they both played for a football team called FC Boca. A club which he also was very passionate about and proud to get to know and befriend such an brilliant bunch of mates. In honour of him the club are arranging a charity Football match on the 23rd of May at Basingstoke football ground. The old original (and mostly retired) team are taking on the current squad. Anyone who wants to offer support is most welcome, kick off is 2pm.
Venue: Hampshire FA, Winklebury Football Complex, Winklebury Way, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG23 8BF. When you come off the roundabout (Island for you Northerners) it's the first left, the turning is straight after the roundabout, some sat navs will take you round the long way.
All proceeds raised will be going towards the Royal Berkshire Cancer Centre Amenity Fund - U382.
