Everyone has had conversations about challenges they'd like to achieve but know deep-down that these are merely pipe dreams....for me this was the Mongol Rally.
So it's with no small sense of excitement that two months before the departure date, Pete and I found ourselves committed to drive about 10,000 miles in a vehicle that would probably be more suitable whizzing around a golf course.
Some people may take the view that we're off on a 5 week jolly; having (hopefully) navigated across Europe we will then traverse Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia before we reach our final destination in Ulaan Bator in Mongolia.
These people would be 100% correct.
Of course, most people on the world don't have the opportunity to undertake something like this however a few of those are helped by the hugely capable Christina Noble Children's Foundation. They're committed to providing shelter, education and medical care to homeless children and the funds we raise will be directed to their Mongolia operation "Blue Skies Ger". This is a far bigger challenge than the one we're looking to undertake but provides a platform for a few others to achieve their own pipe dreams. Please therefore spend 5 minutes punching some numbers into a PC and help.
Much appreciated,
Hawko and Pete
