RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!

In 2014 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon to raise money for the RNLI, in memory of Robert Lindsey Tallack. A close family friend and important part of my childhood, Robert died in a tragic accident at sea in 2011.

His love of the sea and huge generosity of spirit meant that he was a dedicated maritime consultant and loyal member of the Navy, constantly active in community and charity work. He greatly supported the RNLI, and running the Marathon on their behalf will continue that support.

Witnessing the effect of losing Robert on his family highlighted to me the importance of the RNLI's work. Their courageous dedication to carrying out and improving sea rescue is invaluable.

Robert was an amazing man and this is a fantastic cause, so any donations will be hugely appreciated.

I've never run a Marathon before, so will keep you up to date on my training and progress as the big day gets closer! Thank You!
