Story
As you maybe aware, at Pespective (West) we are regularly involved in fund raising and our nominated charity for 2021 is The Movement Centre in Oswestry. To raise funds we are seeking sponshership for two challenges this Autumn.
Firstly, on Sunday 3rd October, Louise McCall, one of our senior Wealth Managers, is taking part in Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland. This involves a 26.2 mile run the full length of Loch Ness and more!
Our second challange., on Sunday 10th October, is for those of us that are not up to the standard of running a marathon. The rest of the staff will be donning their walking boots and walking from Llangollen to Froncysylite - and back,a distance of around 12 miles. Given that many of us usually only walk to the car and back, this will be a tall order for some!
The Movement Centre is a UL charity and specialist treatment centre. They are dedicated to supporting children and their families living with movement disabilities . They have a small but dedicated team who work closely with families to provide a specialist therapy called Targeted Training to help children gain movement control.
Targeted Training therapy can enable children to develop new skills and become far more independent. This can have a huge impact on their life. It can also make a big difference to the lives of their family and friends.
Through a course of Targeted Training therapy children can gain head control, so they can interact with their family; it can help children develop the skills to sit unaided, so that they can play with their friends. for some children it can enable them to walk, which means they can be far more independent!
The full cost of a single course of therapy is £6,250 and it is estimated that this saves the NHS around £80,000 in later treatment; yet, as a specialist therapy it sits outside of the remit for standard NHS funding. Your donation will, therefore, not only help a child, but will save the NHS many thousands of pounds in future treatment.
Thank you in advance for your kind and generous support.
