London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Hello Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read this, or at the very least, quickly scanning over to make sure I’m doing something actually worth while.
The Why
I won’t lie, I’m a big boy. It’s a nice way of saying fat but nether-the-less I’m sticking to it. In an effort to motivate myself and get back in the gym and shed some pounds I signed up to a 10k, but with what can only be described as a moment of utter stupidity, I responded to an email and was quickly offered a spot on a much longer race.
And so, as part of my weight loss challenge, I've been given the ultimate test; the most televised run in the world. That’s right, I have been given the opportunity to run the London Marathon in 2023!
The Challenge:
In April 2023, I will be running 26 miles and I have 120 Days to train for it, but I’m not just doing it for me. In an effort to motivate/shame me in to putting the effort in, there is a good cause counting me getting off my arse, and going the extra mile.
I have joined up with Asda’s Tickled Pink team to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. This charity helps raise breast cancer awareness and supports treatment across the UK, and let’s face it, what they’re going though it a lot harder than running.
So, in lieu of a better mission statement; I’m running my tits off to save someone else’s. Let my sweaty pink face be the beacon to help cancer research and over the coming months, I would be grateful if you could show your support and donate what you can to help this important research continue.
