Story
I'm Perri and I will be running the London Marathon this year on Sunday 23rd April. My FIRST TIME RUNNING A MARATHON.
Running has a special place in my heart with me being a former athlete representing GB in athletics for almost 15 years in the 400m/hurdles and relay. I'm a proud Olympian who managed to compete in front of a home crowd back in 2012.
The charity I have chosen to run and raise funds for is Tommys whom I would love to raise as much money and awareness as they do great work and research finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.
Back in March i experienced an ectopic pregnancy at the time I didn’t know much about what it was.
I had to learn as I went through it. The nurses/doctors made one thing clear that it could kill me if they didn’t act fast.
The fact that I didn’t know much about having an ectopic pregnancy and neither did my husband, made me feel like more awareness needs to me made.
I’ve always wanted to run a marathon and when it came on deciding a charity I felt this would be a chance for me to share my story and also raise awareness.
I will be sharing my journey, the training the highs and lows across all my social platforms.
I kindly ask that you help me raise funds by sponsoring me to run the 26.2 miles in April 2023. I understand times are extremely hard at the present time, the smallest donation can make the biggest difference even better share to others.
