Story

A group of 18 graduates at Perkins Engines are planning on completing The Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.

We intend starting the challenge on the 27th April at 5:00pm, and will hopefully complete the first, and highest mountain, Ben Nevis, standing at 1300m by 10:00pm.

Following this there will be a 5 hour drive to Englands highest mountain, Scarfell Pike, which stands at 973m. We aim to summit Scarfell Pike, and complete what could prove to be the hardest part of the challenge, due to the terrain, darkness, and freezing temperatures by 8:00am.

Next Snowdon. It will be a further 5 hour drive to Snowdon, followed by a 5 hour climb to reach the 1085m high summit, and complete the Three Peaks Challenge.
