Story

My sister, Sarah, and I will be attempting to complete the Plymouth 10K race on Sunday October 7th.  It's been well over a decade since I managed to run anything like that distance and, for Sarah, this will be her longest run ever!  As part of this effort, we would love your help in trying to raise some money to contribute to Guide Dogs Week 2018.  As most of you will know, I have worked for Guide Dogs for over 9 years, and have seen first hand the incredible difference that having a dog can make to those living with sight loss.  These wonderful dogs really are life changers, and are entirely funded by donations.  Please help us support this amazing charity by sponsoring us - no matter how small the amount, it really will make a difference!  Thank you :o).

**Almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss that has a significant impact on their daily lives. Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. Guide Dogs works for a world where people with sight loss are never left out of life, for a world where being blind or partially sighted is not what defines you. A world with enough support to make the challenges of sight loss no barrier to fulfilling hopes and dreams.**

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
