Last year my friends Suz and Sam had a wonderful and feisty baby girl, Efa. Tragically Efa wasn’t able to survive and she died just before Christmas when she was just 7 weeks old.

Claire House supported Suz and Sam from the moment they knew there was a chance that Efa might not live for a long time. They were there throughout the pregnancy, whilst Efa was in hospital, and when Efa died. They let Suz and Sam have some normal moments amongst all the abnormality and make some treasured memories with their beautiful daughter. They continue to support them now and I know that this is invaluable to my friends.

I thought the least I could do in memory of such a strong and sassy little girl is haul myself around a half marathon, my first road race of this length, and I’ve not long turned 40 so my knees have been letting me know what a foolish idea this might be!
