Penny Millar is raising money for THE CHRISTIE CHARITY
Story
Craziness, I know, but I'm going to do the Great North Swim in September!
Although it will mean some of you perverts (SK-I'm looking at you!) will get to see me in a wetsuit, that's not my motivation for doing it (although it may help me get in shape and train hard for it, can't imagine wetsuits are very forgiving). As some of you will know, our mum, Jenny, died in October 2009. She had been suffering from Leukemia and although her treatment was going well, she had a few complications and contracted pneumonia. Throughout the whole thing Christie's was amazing. The staff there are fantastic and they made mum's final couple of months more bearable, not just for her, but for my brothers, my grandpa, aunt and I. This would be my way of giving something back.
I've put down that I would like to raise £500, but if I could raise more that would be fantastic....but that's up to you! So, dig deep. Then come down on the 4th and revel in my pain...
