Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, and supporting me.... running..... for myeloma uk
why myeloma uk?
in 2009 my inspirational father was diagnosed with myeloma. Gutting. But he has fought it from day one, and endured gruelling treatment, including a stem cell transplant in 2010. Sadly the stem cell wasn't as successful as hoped, and by 2011 the marker for myeloma was back. Dad keeps smiling, and we all love the curly hair that grew back after the chemo. Treatments keep on coming, and this is where the work of myeloma uk is so important. Please help me support them.
Why running?
Because I have developed an addiction to the running bug! What started out as a way to try and shift some of the excess gifted me after two beautiful daughters (thanks tash and robyn) and a love of cake, has blossomed into an almost obsession. I love running. I have made some great running friends. I have developed a relationship with headbands that mark knopfler would be proud of(and I am not!). I have started to understand the satisfaction that comes from training, and after 3 half marathons, am ready to step up to the plate. Every weekend I achieve a new distance goal, a new PB, and I want to do this marathon. Would love to finish between 4 and 4 1/2 hours, but aim is to finish! If you can be in Liverpool or the wirral on 14th October please come and support me roadside
Why me?
I hope you are visiting this page because you are part of my family, my friend, my colleague...or maybe more than one. Nobody is flush these days, and we are all asked for lots of donations, but this means so much to me. I have put in so much time and effort, and my family have been so supportive. If you know me, you know I will do this. Please help me make it as worthwhile as possible for myeloma uk, so they can keep working at finding answers that may help me and my family in the years to come
