Story
My fab pal and mud runner team mate Mariel has a gorgeous five year old daughter, Charlotte. She has severe quadriplegic cerebral palsy acquired through suffering a stroke at just 7 months of age. They rely on considerable support to care for her complex needs most notably from her school Chailey Heritage.
Chailey Heritage school relies solely on fundraising. Local Education Authorities cover the costs for a child to attend but without fundraising there would simply be no school - no therapies, swimming, eye-gaze technology, the list goes on.
My friends and I would like to help Chailey with one aspect of fundraising in particular and need your support. As part of Charlotte's therapy program she is fortunate enough to horse ride at school, funded SOLELY through charity donations.
Riding twice a week at Chailey offers tremendous benefits for Charlotte and children like her; posture, vocalisation, confidence, core and respiratory strength are all worked on. The only time Charlotte doesn't need to look up at someone from a seating position to communicate and most importantly - a cherished opportunity to get wet in our Great British Weather - can never get too wet in a wheelchair!
Please help us to raise funds to ensure Charlotte and her friends continue to access riding at Chailey as its one of the most important and enjoyable therapies available to them.
Charlotte doesn't stop smiling throughout her lesson and has more confidence than I could ever have on a horse. She is a pleasure to watch. Am so happy to be supporting this wonderful cause.
