Story
Sadly I lost my Dad last September 2015 to Pancreatic Cancer. Dad lost his short fight to this horrible disease within just 4 weeks from diagnosis. This disease is known commonly as the "Silent Killer", as often it is not diagnosed until it is in its advanced stages and too late for treatment. I promised myself last October, that I would do a sponsored swim to help raise valuable funds towards research in identifying early diagnosis of this deadly disease together with raising more awareness.
Pancreatic Cancer Action is a nationwide charity who focus on earlydiagnosis and are committed to improving the survival rates for Britain's 5th deadliest cancer, through greater awareness of the symptoms of the disease, medical educational programmes, improved information and increased research funding for Pancreatic Cancer.
Awareness of Pancreatic Cancer is the "Cinderella" of all cancers, having been chronically underfunded for decades as awareness remains poor.
