We provide life-enhancing support to the UK's fire & rescue community.

Story

Penketh Fire Station consists of five watches; White, Red, Green, Blue and On-Call . Traditionally, the fire station hold's two car wash's a year to raise funds for the firefighter's charity. However in the current climate of social distance this isn't possible and it is estimated that throughout the country the charity is losing over £1 million during this pandemic.

So, to do our bit for the charity the firefighters at Penketh have come up with a daunting challenge to try and raise some much needed funds.

The challenge consists of riding 24 HOURS A DAY over 10 days to ride the UK coastline.

On Monday 6th July at 8.00am, White watch will begin on their first day shift and each watch will ride for a whole tour which consists of 2 days and 2 nights (48 hours total riding time per watch) The on-call watch will then bring it home by doing  the last 48 hours to finish on 16th of July  at 8am.

Please give whatever you can to help us smash our fundraising target.

The Firefighters Charity provide confidential, personalised support to the whole of the fire services community, delivering mental health, physical health and social wellbeing services at their centres, remotely, online and in communities around the UK.

Championing the health and wellbeing of all those they support - serving, retired or dependant - they aim to ensure that their beneficiaries can live well, for life. In addition, they are not all firefighters. They exist to support all fire and rescue service personnel, whatever their role in the service. They are also there for all those who have retired, as well as for spouses and qualifying dependants.

About the charity

The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist lifelong health & wellbeing support for the UK fire & rescue community, empowering individuals and families to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives. This includes serving and retired firefighters, control and support teams.
