Story
We are a group of close family and friends to Caitlin Jayne Baker. On the 10th of April 2017, she gained her wings and we lost her at just sixteen years old to Meningitis. Caitlin had been suffering from severe headaches and sickness, having attended the GP 3 times showing no signs of improvement, they told her it was a virus. As her condition worsened her mum took her to A&E who categorically told her that she should not be there, she was made to feel like she was wasting their time and told she had an ear infection/virus and was sent home. Within 56 hours Caitlin passed away at home from bacterial meningitis, the air ambulance were called and worked on her for 2 hours but could not revive her. We are taking on the challenge to do the Tough Mudder Classic, a 10 mile obstacle course packed full of thick mud and 25 mental and physical challenges to push us to our limits. We are determined to do this in her memory and make as much money and awareness for this awful disease to prevent others from going through the same. Our Beautiful Angel taken far too soon xx We are taking on this tough challenge to help Meningitis Research Foundation defeat meningitis and septicaemia by 2030. The charity are at the heart of the initiative that is working with the World Health Organisation and leading experts on the disease to tackle meningitis globally. They are creating a roadmap that if adopted by the World Health Organisation in 2020 will help to save lives across the world and help to stop families from experiencing this life changing disease. We really appreciate your support so we can defeat meningitis and septicaemia wherever it exists.
