Story

I am doing this event for my friend Heidi and for all those people with Parkinson's.
I was not aware how young people can contract this condition. How it effects their day to day life and people around them.
I love spending time with Heidi but it does upsets me to see how many tablets she has to take just to function and how precise she has to be to organise her pills and times she has to take them.
She is a great role model to people with this condition to show you can change the way you lead your life but you do not have to give up on things you enjoy doing.
She never complains, whether she is in a spin class or she is doing a grid class ( very tough class for those with no Parkinson's). I complain about my aches and pains more then she does. I am a healthy women with no health problems.
She is a great friend who I look up to and I am in awe of her with the way she handles her Parkinson's.
She does have a great support network around her. Her husband Martin and Parkinson's UK.
Let's now do our part and raise some money for this great cause.

PARKINSON'S IS DEGENERATIVE AND THERE IS NO CURE.

Parkinson's UK are an amazing charity.

Here are some examples of how your help can make a difference for little more then your daily cappuccino or a weekly take away :

5 pounds could pay for a week of nutrients to grow brain cells in the lab for research

14 pounds could pay for a week of their help advisers to give someone newly diagnosed the support and info they need

20 pounds could find an hour of care from a specialist Parkinson's nurse

40 pounds could pay for an education session in a hospital ward as many staff don't know how to care for Parkinson's patients

250 pounds could fund a day of research. That gets us closer to a cure or a better medication

And so much more ... www.parkinsons.org.uk

"Because no one should face Parkinson's alone "

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
