Mum was a lovely, happy person, always full of fun and managed to keep that for most of her life.  The Alzheimer's often made her upset and fearful but we could still make her laugh.  She fought unbelievably hard to keep her independence as long as possible.  In the last three months she was also diagnosed with cancer and the combination finally took her from us.
