Story
TO RUN A MARATHON…takes determination to do the leg work - that’s where I come in, lots of determination to raise the money - that’s where you come in and lots of support from family and friends to run a marathon for a good cause.
On Sunday 2 March I will be running the BATH HALF MARATHON (13.1 miles) and on Sunday 27th April I will be running the ROTARY SHAKESPEARE MARATHON (26.2 miles) in Stratford-upon-Avon.
As I will be dedicating a lot of time, effort and determination (not to mention experiencing lots of aches and pains) I have decided to make my efforts worthwhile and run for TIME IS PRECIOUS charity.
I have chosen this charity because after starting my new job I have seen the amazing effort everyone goes to in supporting this charity in memory of Ben, a young boy aged 4 who sadly died from Cancer in 2010. So in support of my work colleague Neil (Ben’s dad), his family and local hospitals (especially as I am a local girl) I have decided to help support this worthwhile cause.
The charity assists children and their families whilst in hospital, by supplying resources to support their development, education & rehabilitation as well as bringing the family together. The local hospitals which benefit from this fantastic work are Bristol Children’s Hospital, Barbara Russell Children’s Unit, Frenchay Hospital and Royal United Hospital Children’s Centre, Bath.
My training started on Monday 6th January and so far is going well. I am currently up to 9 miles but I still have a long way to go! I am hoping to run the Bath Half Marathon in 1 hour 45 minutes and to run the Rotary Shakespeare Marathon in 4 hours or less!!!! Fingers crossed, I think I will be on target for both (I hope)!
I would be grateful for your support and any money you could spare, as every penny will help inspire me to cross the finishing line with a smile on my face :-)
Thank you for your support.
Louise
