Race for Reading
Campaign by Schoolreaders (RCN 1159157)
Be part of the Race for Reading and tackle childhood illiteracy with us. Our aim is to complete 25,000 miles in 80 days to raise money to provide weekly one-to-one reading support sessions to primary school children.

Story

I will be cycling 500 miles between now and mid-June to raise money for School Readers. PLEASE make the saddle sores worth it by supporting me!!!
Did you know that before Covid-19, 1 in 4 children left primary school unable to read well? If children can't read well when they leave primary school, they will struggle with their secondary education, finding a job, and helping their own children learn to read. The funds I raise will enable School Readers to recruit and place volunteers in a local primary school at no cost to the school, so every child has the opportunity to catch up with vital reading skills. Every £30 will provide individual reading support for one child with a School Readers volunteer each week for a whole year.
