Story
In April 2014, James’ Daddy, Paul died suddenly when James was just seven months old. He had an undiagnosed cardiac condition called ARVC.
CRY were invaluable in their support of us and all our families and friends, providing cardiac pathology support, cardiac screening for Paul’s relatives as well as counselling and support in very difficult circumstances.
To date, we have raised over £12k and screened 114 people in the Buxton area for hidden cardiac conditions, with at least one person being identified as being at significant risk of young sudden cardiac death.
James is now nearly five years old. He is very sporty like his Daddy and wanted to do a sponsored bike ride with his friends. On Sunday 2nd September, he will be cycling along the Monsal trail and back again, a minimum distance of 11 miles accompanied by some of his friends.
Please sponsor James as he undertakes his first sponsored event for his Daddy.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
