Story
Our dear friends Malcolm and Rosie are in need of some support, and when your friends need help you do whatever you can to support them.
Their 20 month old son Finn has symptoms common with known syndromes. He has severe microcephaly, a rare neurological condition where the head and brain do not grow properly. All genetic investigations have ruled out common causes of microcephaly and with more resources they could access further methods of investigation not currently available on the NHS. Finn also has significant global developmental delay and low muscle tone. He is just learning to sit.
Finn is visually impaired. He is able to track some objects but he does not smile at or interact. His visual impairment remains a mystery to the ophthalmologists and they are still investigating his hearing and speech which are underdeveloped.
With more resources they could explore other ways to help them find the answers and support Finn.
In an attempt to support the Maltby’s, 6 friends will be dragging their slightly rotund bodies up and down the Yorkshire Three Peaks, covering 25 miles and 1500m ascent in under 12hrs (the official challenge). All in order to raise as much money as we can to fund future therapies for Finn.
If you are able to sponsor us you will be making a huge difference to a wonderful family. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference to the therapies Finn can access.
Thanks for taking the time to read this message.
