Ben is 3 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. His nerves which are damaged in the brain, make his legs and hips stiff. This stiffness is so severe it causes him constant pain/discomfort. It also stops him from being able to strengthen his muscles. He cant sit unaided or walk, yet.
The operation he needs is a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. This will sever the damaged nerves and end the pain and stiffness. Then with lots of physio he will be able to work towards building the muscles and taking those first steps alongside his little brother Ollie.
