Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for Prostate Cancer UK.

Our team of 4 will be walking/running 1 million steps each throughout August, September and October.

The team is made up of the following members: Tim Hanlon - Scott Parnell, Nigel Worth - Keyline Civils Specialist, Jade Terry & James Haddon - both Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation

Most of the team know a family member, friend or colleague that have been affected by prostate cancer. A close relative of one team member as well as a legend of the civils industry Mike Rees who works at Keyline have recently been diagnosed.

PCUK are an amazing charity and provide incredible support and here are some the reasons why:

  • Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the UK
  • More than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that's 129 men every day
  • Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 11,500 men every year
  • 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. This is unfortunately higher in black men
  • Around 400,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer
  • Prostate cancer referrals fell by 52,000 due to COVID-19.
