Story

Hi,

I really appreciate you taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - let me tell you a bit about why I’m asking for your support:

No doubt you will be aware of the tragic event in Manchester last year where PC Nicola Hughes and PC Fiona Bone lost their lives in a gun and grenade attack whilst attending a routine burglary report.

As a serving police officer it's certainly not lost on me how easily this could have been me or one of my colleagues so when I heard about Run to Remember I was really keen to get involved.

From 1st December 2013 I will be running 250 miles in 125 days (an average of 2 miles per day) to raise money for the 3 charities that the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund are supporting;

1. Victim Support

2. Care Of Police Survivors

3. North West Police Benevolent Fund

I’m not an amazing runner by any stretch of the imagination and I’ve certainly never committed to anything like this before so believe me when I say that your support, however you are able to show it, really will help.

Feel free to join me on a run, or just shout words of encouragement from the sidelines!

Thanks,

- Claire.
