Memory Walk 2021
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year thousands of people will walk united, against dementia. With your help, we aim to raise as much money as possible to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

My amazing mum was diagnosed with Posterior Cortical Atrophy in February 2014. It has been heart breaking seeing her turn into a shell of her former self. This disease is just one of lifes unnecessities. My amazing dad has been her carer, and has recently made the very hard decision to move her into a Dementia care home. My mum never had a tattoo, but when she was diagnosed she wanted 'FUCK PCA' written on her wrist. She never did get that done, so my team is named after that. I am walking with my eldest son George and my best friend Chanelle. I hope that other families never have to go through something so horrible, vicious and totally heart breaking, unfortunately others will if we don't stop it. People who know me, will know I am not a walker or a jogger or an exercise junkie. I am though getting off my backside and doing this for such a fantastic reason. Please donate whatever you can. Much love Mel xx
