Story
The second of our bi-yearly fundraising efforts is taking place in November, over the weekend of the 12th-13th.
MS is the most common neurological condition affecting young adults. MS affects the central nervous system (CNS) which comprises the brain and spinal cord, which together form the body’s communication network. MS means ‘many scars’ – these scars prevent messages being passed along this network interfering with a range of functions.
The Beds and Northants MS Therapy centre is another local charity which takes great care with many people in the local community suffering from this often crippling condition.
The centre is run by 19 health professionals, and a team of up to 50 volunteers each week (many of whom suffer from MS themselves) in order to run the centre. Though they do not receive any statutory funding, it still costs around £350,000 per year to keep the centre up and running, and providing the great care and services they do.
While we can't hope to provide everything they need, on behalf of one of our clan members who lives with MS every day, we're working to give what we can to keep the centre doing what they can
