Story

And here we go again, for the third time I will attempt to ride a 1000-mile-long ride in 24 hours (or less). For the third time, I am asking for your support for the Royal British Legion.

This is a sponsored long-distance motorcycle ride to raise money for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. The event has been running since 2009 and has always had well over 100 riders taking part every year.

I am taking part in RBLR1000 - this time I will ride the South Route - which starts and finishes in one central location near Leeds and goes through Bangor, Haverfordwest, Barnstaple, Andover and Lowestoft - you can see it on the map above.

I participated in this event last year and completed the North Route in time, but two years ago - due to my dullness and tiredness at the last checkpoint I managed to fill my motorcycle with diesel... It took 4 extra hours to get her cleaned and back on the road, so I did not manage to get back on time.
