Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
*************** UPDATE: 7 April 2009 ***************
Well, I have decided to do London a little differently. The opportunity arose to run it in fancy dress, which quite frankly I couldn’t turn down! I am going to be one of 4 pink lady apples running in the marathon to raise money for Great Ormond Street!
The costume arrived today so that I could have a practice. See photo opposite! I dressed up and did a 6 mile run around the neighbourhood. On my own. As an apple. Hat, green leggings and all. Got quite a few comments on the way, including one person filming me!
Don’t know what this means in terms of my expected race time. I will have to start right at the back along with the other idiots in fancy dress. Would be nice to beat my 2002 time of 5 hours, but we shall see. Should be an experience anyway!
If you haven't yet, please consider sponsoring me.
******************* END OF UPDATE *******************
Before my son Daniel was born he was diagnosed with hydronephrosis (dilated kidney). Since his birth he has been under the care and attention of Great Ormand Street Hospital (GOSH), including undergoing an operation (pyleoplasty) under general aneasthetic in 2007.
I am running the London Marathon this year, and feel that it is a perfect opportunity to say thank you to GOSH by raising some money for them.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me....Thanks!
I would also ask that you pass this web page or link on to any friends or family who may know me and who would also want to support GOSH.
