We buy vital equipment for neonatal units to help treat sick & premature babies

Story

At 9pm on Sat 4th May we start to row the 505 miles from London to Paris, racing as 2 teams over 6 days to be the first to the Eiffel Tower.

The race will take us down the Thames, into and across the rather busy shipping lane that is the English Channel and then up the Seine on the spring tide to Paris.

We will be rowing 2 hours on, 2 hour off over the predicted 6 days and nights in a bid to beat the Help for Heroes crew to the first cold beer in Paris.

There are only 3 days each year when the spring tide surge enables boats to be rowed against currents into the mouth of the Seine - which is why more people have climbed Everest than have rowed to Paris.

We have put in the effort on the ergo (covering around a million metres in training) and on the water over the winter… but it is now time to put in some time and effort on the fundraising.

We are doing this row to raise funds for the Ickle Pickles, a charity set up by friends of ours Andy and Rach after their son Charlie was born prematurely in 2008. The charity raises money to buy the specialised equipment needed to treat the smallest babies, such as incubators and ventilators. Without them and the dedicated Neonatal staff babes such as Charlie would be unlikely to survive.

Any donation you make will be put towards some kit that will help save lives. Thanks in advance for your donation, big or small.

Cheers,

Paul/Tiger
