This year I am running the 40th staging of the Great North Run, the 3rd time I have done this race and which has been rolled over a year due to COVID - I should have been running this in 2020 in dedication to both Harry England & Mandy Stout who unfortunately lost their personal battles with Cancer just over a year ago, however since this time we have unfortunately lost other members of 55 Bty & 49 Regt RA so this years run will be in memory to all those.

I have chosen the Royal British Legion (my first Charity) for the following reason!

Harry was on Thirsk RBL club committee and also served as vice Chair over the years. As a true veteran Harry loved his connection to the RBL and also marched on remembrance day and as they say 'once a Gunner, always a Gunner' - Mandy also ran the RBL club for many years and was of great support in my Pedal 2 Paris challenge in 2018 and did so much to ensure our annual September reunion was well hosted by the club - we could not thank her enough for her organisation over the years.

In their memory I would like to ensure the Legion is able to continue in supporting its service personnel both serving and veterans.
