I am raising money for Help for Heroes

City of Birmingham Triathlon 2013 · 21 July 2013 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As an ex frontline service man I am endeavouring to raise some funds for the Charity 'Help the Heroes'.
This Charity does many things including supporting rehabilitation to soldiers injured beyond what would have been feasibly fatal 20years ago
From personal experience, after losing close friends in active service, I feel I need to try and raise funds to assist in the good work already being achieved.
To do this I needed to choose a challenge that would test my physical and psychological strength and stamina I have decided to try an 1.5km open water swim 40km bike ride 10k run as a Triathlon taking place on July 21st in Birmingham.
At the time this idea was conceived it sounded great however I was sat in a pub slightly drunk. I was not a good swimmer , and could not run and did not have a bike never mind being overweight. I also if I am honest feel I have managed to cheat what is the ultimate sacrifice , laying down life and limb for your country.
It has taken some time to get to a standard of fitness to then be able to start a triathlon training program and I therefore run regularly with the Lincoln running club. I am now currently at week 6 of a 20 week triathlon program.
My message is simple I want to help try and change the lives of some extraordinary people with my strength and your financial assistance of sponsorship we can both help the wounded and their families to get there lives back on track.
Please give what you can, no matter how little.
Thank you.
