I am a school teacher at Smitham Primary School in Surrey and am running the Milton Keynes Marathon for Caring Matters Now. Josh, a little boy at my school who has CMN, joined a couple of years ago and his parents asked if we could do anything to help raise the profile of CMN. A couple of us last year grew moustaches to raise funds and promote awareness of the condition but I decided that this year a greater challenge was required. Following various knee injuries I made the foolish decision to train for a marathon but thankfully, so far everything is still in full working order! I didn't really count on how much the training would take over my life but it has been an interesting journey and one that I have enjoyed despite the bleakest winter I can remember for a long time accompanying all my outdoor training!
