The Round Britain Reliability Run:  “Starting from North London on Friday the 6th of October, up to 100 Triumph cars will drive through the night to John O'Groats in the far north of Scotland, then after spending Saturday driving through the scenic highlands they again drive overnight down via Wales to Land's End in Cornwall, before returning to North London for Sunday Evening. A total distance of nearly 2000 miles covered in 48 hours. This event has been a regular part of Club Triumph calendar since 1966, during which time more than 300 Triumphs have taken part. Up until 1982 it was used as a demonstration and proving run by factory teams when Triumphs were still in production.”

 

We will be attempting this event in a Triumph Spitfire 1500.  We have recently taken the car to the Le Mans Classic where we were able to drive a few laps of the circuit, then as a test for the durability of the car (and us!!); we drove through Luxembourg to the Nurburgring in Germany for a few laps and home via Belgium .  The car performed perfectly and we are confident of completing this event.
