Story
First of all thank you for taking the time to visit this page in memory of Pauline.
Even in her passing Pauline has continued to help others in the same way as she did throughout her life.
We have been told that by donating her organs, Pauline has already saved the lives of three people, with potential for more in the future. Helping others was always at the forefront of everything Pauline did in life and something that she instilled in me from a young age.
Even though organ donation has taken great step forward in recent months with the changes in legislation and the introduction of the opt out system, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done around education and awareness. Until my mums passing I only ever thought of organ donation helping those who received the organs. However it has brought me, Steve and sure many of you great peace in knowing that however tragic our loss is there has been some light out of this and that three people, their families and friends have been given the gift of life through my mums gift.
I personally look upon organ donation as something we need to speak about a lot more and not be afraid of. If we can help others then we should take that opportunity and make sure that our loved ones are aware of our choice for when the time comes.
Live Life Give Life use funds for awareness building and educational initiatives that spark interest at getting people talking about organ donation. Research show that 80% of registered donors have not shared their donation choice with their family, hence by raising awareness of this they can help to save the lives of many more for years to come.
Thank you again for your donations, it really means a lot and hopefully through this we can continue Pauline’s legacy of helping othera in their time of need.
Dominic and Steve x
